The M-Card

When inserted in a tru2way certified set-top, television, or other host device, this removable security module enables delivery of digital video programming or other services.

• Features decryption of premium services for both single- and multistream hosts

• Is compatible with single-stream one-way televisions sold today and future two-way devices

• Simultaneously decrypts up to six video streams

• Qualified by CableLabs

CableCARD-Enabled Set-Tops

Cisco’s expanding portfolio of CableCARD-enabled set-tops includes standard-definition digital-only to dual-tuner high-definition digital video recorders.

Cisco set-top host software:

• Displays CableCARD information on diagnostic pages

• Displays an alert when the CableCARD is removed

• Displays an alert when a failed or unsupported card is inserted

• Restarts the set-top upon valid M-Card insertion

• On DVR, does not allow playback of content from any internal or external hard drive unless there is a validated CableCARD present

Cisco DNCS 2.2 (and higher)

• Supports both single- and multistream CableCARD

• Is widely deployed and can currently support CableCARD from the headend

Cisco DNCS 4.0 (and higher)

• Supports tru2way in addition to CableCARD

• Supports delivery of tru2way applications, including object carousel support, [and common download]
